Three Miniatures for Solo Trumpet (2018)

Three Miniatures is an unaccompanied solo trumpet work originally intended for the C trumpet, (but I was later convinced that the Bb trumpet suits it better in many different ways). Initially I wanted to write musical etudes or exercises that would improve my own playing but, as more and more ideas came together, it gradually became its own interesting piece requiring different styles and techniques that I thought others might enjoy playing. There are elements of music in these three miniatures that may come easy, but are intertwined with later challenges to keep the player's interest.
